A lot of tourists say to arrive early, but I'm not sure that is all so critical. When Cherrim, Torchic , Bellossom and I arrived at the Forbidden City, the place was totally packed! We had also tried to get in to the city just the afternoon before, and it was just as squishy. If you ask me, I would just say it wouldn’t really matter when you went in, because if you go early you’re just going to spend all that “saved” time to the extremely aching line-ups.
Anyway, the Forbidden City is an amazing place, and it was amazing to feel the awe of walking in at the places where the Chinese emperors used to live. It made us feel almost as tiny as a few specks of dust! We saw the places where the emperors slept, their offices for different occasions of different levels of importance, where their families and lived, and more. Everyone except for Bellossom was either the bit tired or wiped out, so me, Cherrim and Torchic ended up just checking out a third of the city. My feet felt as if they were about to fall off! Oh, those resource-wasters!
What, what’s that? What was my favourite part of the Forbidden City? Well, I know for sure what my most favourite part was! The Treasure Museum! In there, one of the type of objects we saw were carvings of great delicacies formed of jade, agate, pearl. Seriously, some were so fragile, I thought if someone tapped the glass case the treasures were kept in, it would shatter into smithereens! But that’s definitely not the most amazing of the treasures our eyes were presented. There were bowls, plates, spoons, and chopsticks made of agate, jade and quartz. They looked so pretty, thin and smooth, I wondered if anyone would actually dare to use these as utensils and dishware; a scrape of the spoon could ruin the treasure! Isn’t it just so amazing what just a skilled hand a few simple carving tools can do?

It all wouldn’t have happened if Charmeleon, Lucario, Raichu and Rhydon decided to go the Poke Creamery to have their ice-cream-making lessons. “Why don’t we stop for a short strawberry or caramel sundae at Igglybuff’s Incredible Ice Cream?” asked Raichu. “Well, we’ve got 15 extra minutes, and I’m sure Igglybuff will be delighted,” said Rhydon excitedly. “Oh of course, I and Charmeleon are sweating like crazy!” Lucario told Raichu. Raichu hooted, and replied, “Then let’s set off for Igglybuff’s Incredible Ice Cream!” The gang excitedly jumped up and down while they ran through the crowded streets leading to Igglybuff’s. When they had just arrived at the entrance of the ice-cream store, Rhydon immediately noticed that Charmeleon had mysteriously vanished. Except for the Igglybuff’s Incredible Ice Cream shop hanging an open sign, there was only a small store called “PokeFate, your fortune is waiting to be told”. The three remaining friends noticed something suspicious about the shop, and decided if there were going to be clues; they were going to be in the PokeFate shop.
“Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek…” The door creaked open with surprising effort. Raichu crabbily huffed through, right into the dizzying blackness in the shop without looking. Shockingly, a chamber door opened and Raichu fell into the pitch-darkness. As the secret chamber door closed with a bone-crackling click, it left only Rhydon and Lucario standing, both lost for words. “Let’s go get the police! They’ll solve this mystery!” said Lucario, finally finding something to say. Rhydon turned around and twisted the doorknob. The door didn’t budge. Rhydon twisted and pushed harder. Still nothing happened. Rhydon banged on the door and twisted as hard as she could. Turning around to look at how his friend was doing, Lucario realized that they had been locked in. “Noooooooooooooo!!! This can’t be! How are we going to get out of this creepy place now?” There was only one risky passage out of this place; and they knew what it would mean.
“Ladies first!” said Lucario sweetly, gesturing his hand to exactly where Raichu had fallen through. Rhydon had secretly tied a long piece of string around Lucario’s left foot to her own left foot. Lucario, unaware of the string, had wanted to stay up here, and let Rhydon risk her life. As Rhydon tiptoed cleverly to where Raichu had vanished, Lucario still thought she didn’t know what he was going to do. With a tap of Rhydon’s foot, down she went with Lucario dismayingly trailing behind her. In the dizzying blackness, a horrible, sour stench haunted their nostrils. “Splat!” Rhydon and Lucario landed straight inside a small cellar, its floor fully occupied with some kind of chemical goo. Still slightly winded, Lucario slowly untied his foot, and grunted at his sore ankle. “What is this place? We better get out of here; it looks even creepier than where we were before!” yelled Lucario, making the small walls echo his sentence. A shadow appeared behind them, and before Lucario could say, “Rhydon, watch out!” a huge wire net came plunging down, and trapped them inside.
